A to Z Challenge - Hell or Heaven

Heaven

heavens to betsy, this poetry has gotten
far too serious. Now hell would be serious, warm and toasty
but probably not fun like heaven
so let’s go light or lite and think about rainbows,
chocolate, seeing folks we miss (my Mom, my Nana),
and being young and thin and carefree again
or still old and pudgy but carefree again
throw away the glasses, no aches or pains
green grass, blue skies, and fields of flowers
beaches, and butterflies, mountains, and fountains
heaps of mashed potatoes, and endless enchiladas
whimsical roundtables with endless laughs
soaring music with choirs of rock angels
peace and love and peace and love
and peace and love and peace and love

heaven should be peace and love to

infinity

  1. Somehow I missed the chocolate the first time, but was relieved to see it there on second glance! ;)

  2. Do you think there are mashed potatoes and chocolate in Heaven? I like to believe it's like in that movie "Defending Your Life," where you can eat whatever you want and never get fat. But I'm guessing there's no food (or tastebuds) in Heaven!

  5. Yes - I think it would be heaven being re-united with all of my pets who have passed away - my husband thinks that would be his idea of hell - oh dear we might not be going together!!

    1. I'm not a big animal person, so I might be hanging back with your husband.

  8. I'm going to Purgatory.
    I'll be there a spell.
    But, what is the story?
    That, no one will tell.

    Is it like Hell?
Run by a devil named 'Mabel'?*
    Or, is it like, well...
    Heaven without cable?

    *Hey, 'Mabel' rhymed.
